Description: Late 19th century. Again the dominant image remains that of the garden, perceived through the frame of an arch whose spandrels are rendered in madder to the familiar prayer rug format.  The tree around which the whole design is created is in ivory with various pairs of birds and sprays of blossoms and leaves. At the base of the tree the trunk emerges from large saz serrated leaves which serves as the vase seen in other examples, e.g. no. 2 above.  The border has an ivory ground filled with rosettes enfolded by elegant leaves; the border is flanked by asymmetrical guardbands adorned with a profusion of small flowers and vegetal motifs..
