A cartouche bears the inscription sharkat-i baradaran-i Amini ('Amini Brothers' Company'). The rug is enhanced by restained touches of silk in the corner pieces. There is a superb medallion, star burst in form, with anchors and complex cornerpieces. As is appropriate to the east there are lots of herati motifs. The whole work is beautifully delineated to the highest standard. |
