Description: Late 19th century.
This work is related to the last rug. It is formally a prayer rug, with the mihrab set in a pale sage green ground. The design is dominated by a tree with vases to either side; it is rather stylised and slightly geometric in its drawing with elegant branches and a host of blossoms, mainly picked out in pink, madder and touches of blue. The pale rose ground extends to the border of stylised blossoms and trendrils; in each corner of the border are outward facing corner rosettes.
