Description: Late 19th century. This tightly knotted rug is part of an important group characterised by the use of dominant pastel shades. It has an ivory ground with a hue
of the palest of sage green; details are picked out in red; the spandrels to the niche are rendered in a deeper sage green. Rosettes and flowers, dominate the complex guardbands.
As with other prayer rugs of the Collection the usual features of the mihrab are to be seen, notably the lamp (here full of blossoms) suspended from the point of the arch.
