Knots: 8 x 7 cm2, approx. total 1,527,000
Description: Early 20th century. This work is unusual in that it is signed Akhvan-i Kashani ('Kashani Brothers'). It has an ivory main field, with a profusion of blossoms,
leaves, and stems. The vase supporting the mass of blossoms is beautifully executed. In contrast to the main field, the main border has a mellow golden ground with palmettes and leaves; to either side
are matching guard bands.
The signature may indicate the atelier or the commissioning merchants. No further detail is known.
